How do we help with writing?

Blog Writing

You want to write a blog. And you know what you want to say, but you just can’t put it into words. Don’t panic, this is what we do. We’ll talk to you, we’ll hang on your every word, and then we’ll produce a blog you can call your own. One that you’ll be happy to put your name to.

And we can do this as often as you like, whether it’s once a week or once a month. And you don’t have to worry about things like SEO – we do that for you, too, to make sure you blog reaches as many people as possible and it gets as high as possible on those all-important search engine pages.

Press Releases

You’ve got a great news story that you just know the world needs to hear about. Except, you haven’t got the foggiest where to begin. Fortunately, we have journalists here with years of experience, a wealth of knowledge and a list of contacts as long as your arm. And, crucially, we have the know-how to get your story published.

We know how the media works, and we know what make editors tick. And we know how to approach them in the right way, so your story stands a good chance of being published in that magazine, website, journal or newspaper where you feel it rightly belongs. You know your audience, it’s our job to help you reach out to them.

Copywriting

Whether it’s a brochure, an advertorial, brand strategy or a case study, we’ve got all bases covered. It’s easy enough to come up with a whole bunch of words, the tricky part is adding that sprinkle of magic that makes them stand out from everyone else’s. We have the magic touch. We really can make all the difference.

Copywriting can be worth its weight in gold if it’s done properly, so we want to make sure every word counts. We’ll leave no stone unturned because it’s all about delivering the very best quality. We want to make your copy engaging so the end product gets the most value possible and gets the right results. We’re in this for you.

Content Writing

You can have the flashiest, all-singing all-dancing website there is. But what is it, really, if the content doesn’t match the appearance? If it’s all fur coat and…? Well, you know the rest. We’ll produce the quality content that your website deserves. We want to make it stand out in more ways than one – and stand out from the rest.

We very much believe that content is still king. Fresh, lively, engaging and professional copy can be all the difference between someone landing on your website and remaining there, rather than them disappearing again in seconds, never to be seen again. And yes, again, we’ll optimise it to the hilt so you don’t have to worry about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone write great copy?

Yes, of course. But do they have the time? And do they really have the drive? Those last two are the crucial ones because, in our experience, the answer is usually ‘no’. But we do. Producing great copy, for you, is what gets us out of bed in the morning.

How important is blogging to my website and my business?

You have a voice, and you should use it. It’s an additional way of demonstrating to your clients that you really know what you’re talking about and that you’re an absolute authority in your field. And by producing quality, insightful content, you’re also promoting your brand.

I’m not great at writing; should I outsource it?

You should definitely give it a go to begin with. Only then will you discover whether a) You can/want to do it or b) Maybe you’re better off handing it over to someone else. We’ll be here waiting for you...

How can I get my press release taken up by publications?

This is not as easy as you may think. Journalists and editors are bombarded daily with press releases – but how many of them actually end up published? What you need is someone who has worked in that business, who knows how it operates, who knows how to get the attention of editors, and who has the contacts. Hello!

Should I write a book?

We’ve all got at least one book inside us, so the saying goes. And I’m sure we’ve all written the first line in our heads. But we’ve all got lives that put a great demand on our precious time, so invariably that first line remains just that – one line. How do you write the next line, the next paragraph, the next page? If you really, really want to write a book, don’t try to do it alone. Come and have a word with us first.

How do I write copy that performs well on search engines?

Writing copy your reader loves and writing copy that Google loves are two very different things. The whole structure is entirely different and can go right against everything you think you know about writing. And it can be a minefield too. Fortunately, we know how to write great copy and SEO it to the hilt, increasing your visibility on search engine results.

Should I regularly update the content on my website?

Absolutely. Content is still king. Neglecting your website and leaving the content stagnant will not reflect well, and it ruins the effort you put into having one in the first place. Having a website that is updated regularly with fresh content rather than dated and stale copy will only have a positive effect on SEO.

I know what I want to say, but I just can’t put it into words.

You’re not alone. This is a common issue, people are very often simply lost for words. But by talking to one of our skilled, experienced writers, we can take you through it step by step to ensure that your blog, or press release, or whatever piece of content you want to write is delivered exactly in the way you envisaged it. Perhaps even better...

How will you write about my particular field if you don’t know much about it?

There are two answers to this: 1) We will work closely with you to get as much information as possible from you, to understand exactly what you want to say. We’re like sponges – tell us something and we’ll soak it up. 2) Research. We’ll delve into your field and dig up as much as we can to make us as informed as we possibly can be. And if there’s something we don’t know, we’ll just ask you.

What makes you the right person to write for me?

Our writers are highly skilled, with long and successful careers in journalism. We’ve written for some of the top publications in the UK, for some high-profile and distinguished individuals, in a great many different sectors. We know our stuff, let us show you how.

We’re all told that we should be blogging for our business but many people don’t actually understand why and how this can contribute to their business success. There is so much content out there that it’s hard to be heard in the noise. With the write education and flair, anyone with a passion for their business can stand out. Sometimes, I have to give a bit of tough love and say what a client doesn’t want to hear but, in the end, it’s all about results. That one article, that’s been worked on collaboratively, can sometimes be the difference between the junk folder and the centre page editorial.
